How to use LinkedIn for your event’s content marketing

How to use LinkedIn for your event’s content marketing

There are currently over 500 million LinkedIn members. You can just imagine how many leads you can generate by using LinkedIn as one of your content marketing platforms.

Using Linkedin as an Efficient Content Marketing Platform

Aside from being one of the best places where you can meet professionals and entrepreneurs you can connect with, nowadays LinkedIn can be a viable platform if you want to reach a more targeted audience and raise your event’s exposure.

LinkedIn is now allowing its members to publish blogs and promotional contents in the platform. Primarily a B2B platform, LinkedIn has now paved the way for effective B2C connections and many event organisations are now utilising the social media platform to increase their reach and boost connections with potential customers.

There are two ways you can publish on LinkedIn, as follows:

1. LinkedIn Publisher
This allows the members to directly post long articles and share the post within the LinkedIn network.

2. LinkedIn Status Update
This allows the members to post brief and concise posts or updates much like the Twitter feature.

Making the Most Out of LinkedIn for Your Content Marketing

Over the years, LinkedIn has evolved and if you want to use it as one of your content marketing platforms, here are some of the key things you need to know:

1. Short-form posts have more potential for engagements compared to longer posts.

Although using LinkedIn can make a significant impact on your marketing campaign, notably the engagement in its publishing platform is decreasing. It’s up to you then to make your content as appealing to your audience. One thing you need to know though is that the short-form posts are the ones actually driving more engagements compared to long-form posts.

2. Videos are proven to be highly-engaging and, the great news is LinkedIn now allows video posts and updates.

Because they are highly engaging, using videos can be one of the most effective ways you can attract more traffic and convert more customers. LinkedIn is now allowing its members to post videos on its platform directly. This means you can post videos on your LinkedIn account and share it in your network to boost traffic and grow your audience.

3. LinkedIn is a great platform for link and blog sharing.

As LinkedIn is essentially the social media platform primarily used for professional settings, it is considered more authoritative. If you already have your own website or blog you can share it on your LinkedIn network and drive more traffic to your page. To maximise the effect, you can post several updates relevant to your content and see to it that they are linked to the original article.
